Frequently asked questions
We have a mission to bring high quality but affordable headshot to actors. The industry has been really tough lately with Covid, AI and strikes so we want to do what we can to help. Without good headshots, it hard to get noticed by casting directors, we want to open doors equally for everyone to have a fair chance at landing your dream role.
We believe in keeping your headshots as natural as possible as you don't want to surprise casting. Our retouching process is very subtle, we focus on enhancing your looks rather than changing you completely. The goal is to showcase the true you, we will remove any temporary imperfections such as blemishes.
Absolutely! Our headshots are taken in a style ready for your spotlight portfolio. If you have an agent, we recommend speaking with them prior to your session to discuss what sort of styles/outfits your current portfolio is missing. We will also direct the session so you can get images showcasing different character types.
Change the text and add your own content, including any information that is relevant to share. Then customize the font, size and scale to make it your own. You can also drag and drop this text box anywhere on the page, or switch it out with another element.
We recommend you bring as many outfits to your shoot as possible. The more outfits you bring, the more we have to play with and the more character types we can showcase in the headshots that we take. If you have an agent, we recommend speaking to them before the session to discuss which styles you're missing from your current portfolio. Aim to bring different colours and different styles (bringing only 10 black or white t shirts will limit the results we can achieve).
Individual headshots are £55. We offer bundles which offer discounts if you like multiple photos. Remember, the prices below include the deposit which you can deduct from any purchase - so you can redeem your deposit against the £220 bundle and only pay £165 or just claim 1 photo without paying anything extra.
We ask for a deposit to make sure people turn up to booked sessions.
We give you a code when we send you the gallery of headshots, where you can redeem your £45 deposit against anything you spend. E.g. if you want the 5 picture bundle for £220 (buy 4 get 1 free), you can enter your coupon code and checkout for only £165.
Yes of course! You can change your appointment as many times as you want provided that you give at least 48 hours notice. You can change your session by logging into your account or managing your booking by clicking the link in your email.
We try our best to make sure you will like them by asking you what you are looking for and showing you the pictures throughout the session. We try and capture as many styles and variety as possible.
Absolutely! We have a wide range of backgrounds, perfect for showcasing different character styles. We regularly update the selection we have in the studio to have the best options available.
Yes, but keep it simple and natural. The goal is for casting directors to see you, not your makeup. Subtle, well-applied makeup that enhances (rather than hides) your features is best. Think clean, polished, and true to how you look in real life. Avoid anything too bold like heavy eyeliner, bright lipstick, or intense contouring. It’s also best to skip fake tan, as it can look uneven or unnatural on camera.
If you’re doing your own makeup (which most of our clients do), here are a few helpful tips:
-
Take your time: Blend carefully, especially along your jawline and hairline. Makeup that’s well-blended looks more natural in photos—harsh lines or unblended edges can be very noticeable on camera.
-
Keep it neutral: Go for soft, natural shades on your eyes, lips, and cheeks. A bit of mascara and a neutral-toned lip colour can go a long way. Skip anything too dramatic—your headshot should reflect how you normally look when walking into an audition.
-
Reduce shine: A light sweep of translucent powder can help control shine, especially under studio lights, without making your skin look cakey or dull.
-
We do not offer this unfortunately. We recommend you arrive with hair and makeup already sorted. However, you are free to adjust or even change your makeup or hair during the shoot in between costume changes.
Our standard turnaround time for retouched headshots is around 5 business days from when you place your order. Please note this doesn’t include weekends, and during especially busy periods, it might take a little longer.
Each image is carefully hand-edited to make sure you get the best possible result—so it’s not a process we rush.
If you’re on a tight deadline or need your headshots by a specific date, we recommend selecting our priority editing option when place your order. With priority editing, we’ll upload your previews as quickly as possible and we aim to have your final retouched selections ready by the next working day.
